Many oil coolers on the market ignore the priority oil flow of the engine, which routes the oil through the filter first, leaving as much as half the oil to flow directly into the cooler and through the engine without touching the filter.
The Mazda Motorsports solution, however, sends all of the engine oil through the filter and then to the oil cooler adapter, an obviously more effective path for the oil.
The oil cooler is getting clean filtered oil to be cooled and then put back into the engine oil circuit with fresh filtered cooled oil.
The Mazda Motorsports oil cooler adapter, bolts directly to the MZR engine block with no modifications. This is the oil filter block that was designed as part of the cooling package for the Spec MX-5 series with the C&R Radiator.

1/8” NPT port for a sensor.
1/4” NPT port (Version 1) for the factory pressure sensor. M10 x 1 port (version 2) for a combination pressure and temperature switch. Switch not included with Version 2, but is available as an option to purchase separately.
Lines are not included with the block. Custom lines however are available.

Version 2
On version 2 of this block we changed the rear port from 1/4" NPT (which was designed for the factory pressure sensor) to an M10 x 1 port to be used with a combination pressure/temperature sensor all in one.
For those running AIM data aquisition systems we also have an optional harness to attach to your AIM head unit.
