All radiators in all cars have some level of electrolysis associated with them. Given the expense of the Aluminum race radiators and some of the past issues with leaking due to electrolysis, we now offer a cost effective solution. This weld in Magnesium anode threads into an aluuminum threaded bung that places the magnesium anode into the radiator and water/coolant and acts as a sacrificial piece of metal to attract the electrolysis to the magnesium instead of your expensive radiator.
Typically a race car will race less than 1% of its life, the rest of the time it is sitting and waiting on the next track event. We install these in all of our cars and check them once a year. This magnesium anode will help eliminate the damage to the Aluminum radiator and allow the magnesium to be the sacrificial piece that will get damaged.
What is electrolysis? Electrolysis is a chemical reaction produced by current that can gradually destroy metal components and ruin the cooling system.
Package includes the Magnesium anode and the Aluminum threaded weld in bung.
