SCCA Rules now allow (Jan 2016) for a 1/8" opening between the mesh to be legal. If you live in a state that it gets hot I highly reccommend the 1/4" mesh as the 1/8" will reduce the amount of airflow coming in through the nose and can have an impact on cooling capability in hot and humid situations.
