Multi purpose laser cut and formed engine stand. I finally got tired of SMX engines strapped to harbor freight dolly’s in the shop so once we completed our engine stand for the Spec Miata motors, the NC platform was next on the list.
Features:
- Laser cut 3/16” formed aluminum.
- Bell housing plate is laser etched (NA, NB or NC) with the motor designation.
- Allows for engine to be fully dressed including motor mounts.
- Won’t tip over or be too top heavy, even with 5” casters.
- Laser cut slots on all 4 sides that accept up to 2” tie down straps to help secure the engine stand in the trailer or on a pallet.
- Laser cut holes for any 4”x? standard caster pattern.
- Engine stand acts as a drip tray. If you blow one up at the track that is leaking fluids, the bottom of the stand acts as a drip tray to catch fluids so they don’t end up all over the trailer or shop floor.
Optional Accessories:
- Caster Kit - (4) 5” casters, (16) bolts and (16) nylock nuts.
- Rubber Mat for underneath the engine. (1) 1/8” thick rubber mat that slips right over the bolts for the casters.
- Oil absorbent pads to place in the bottom of the tray.
- Strap Kit - 2” x 6’ straps that can be used to pick the engine up. A fully dressed engine weighs roughly 290lbs, so if you guide the straps through the slots then 2 people can lift the engine into the trailer.
The MiataCage Engine Stand comes with the following parts:
- (1) 3/16” laser cut and formed engine stand.
- (1) 3/16” bell housing attachment plate.
- (2) Aluminum spacers for bell housing plate.
- (2) Bell housing plate bolts.
- (2) Bell housing plate nylock nuts.
Working with large aluminum sheet like this makes it impossible for a scratch free surface. All of these engine stands will have surface imperfections on the aluminum that in no way effect the strength or ability for the product to perform as designed.
If you want a perfect exterior surface on the engine stand you would need to DA the product and then hard anodize.
