MiataCage.com has partnered with the world famous Jim Drago of SpecMiata fame to provide you with the very best, legal, SpecMiata motor.  East Street Racing Motors are available for the 1.6L and 1.8L for all model years of the SpecMIata.  At the 2008 Runoffs, the East Street Racing (Drago) motor was the only motor in the top 6 that made it through tech with zero issues.  No questionable shims or grey area parts, just a compliant reliable motor that was able to put Blake Clements on the front row for qualifying. We can start with your motor, or we can get a crate motor to start with and build you a legal front running SM motor.

Consistent repeatable numbers in a cost effective legal package are keys to our motor program. All new internal parts are used in every motor, nothing gets re-used. The price is for a short block, but if you send in a complete motor with intake and exhaust, for an additional $150.00 we will clean, inspect and re-install those parts for you.

Why don’t we list HP numbers for our motors? There are so many factors involved when you talk about HP numbers on a Dyno. You can make a dyno read any number you want based on the “adjustments” for ambient temperature, humidity etc. Other things like tire pressure, camber and even the way the car is strapped down to the dyno will change the number significantly. We believe in providing the best quality legal motor that we guarantee will be competitive. Other motor builders sell their motors based on a HorsePower number, we are selling ours based on legality, integrity and consistency.

Sebring 09 January National - East Street Racing Motors finish 1st (1.8L) and 2nd (1.6L) and go through SCCA teardown inspection without issue.

Effective January 2009, the motor rules for SpecMiata have changed, so make sure you are getting a compliant motor for your SpecMiata.
