The team at MiataCage has partnered with the Motorsports division at C&R to come up with a no compromises triple pass Aluminum race radiator that properly fits in a 99-05 SpecMiata using the stock factory upper mounts, lower (pin style) mounts and all without any modifications needed to the stock fan.

This is the largest Aluminum radiator we can fit in the car and still clear the sway bar.   

Triple pass means the water makes 3 passes in the core before returning to the engine. The triple pass design allows the water to turbulate more in the cores tubes when compared to a single pass. Allowing more contact with the aluminum tube, extracting more heat from the water. But nothing is free, therefore Triple passing raises the water pressure drop and it is not recommended using reducing pulleys, the water needs the extra flow rate the stock pulleys offer.

100% made in America.  No Chinese parts here!  The problem with most of the SM radiators on the market right now is that they are comprised of cheap Chinese radiator cores and then don’t fit properly.  Several of them use a panel that slips over the front core support and mounts to the stock bolt meant to hold on the stock Radiator mount, not the radiator itself.  With this design the core support transfers all the energy from chassis flex as well as bump drafting directly into the upper corners of the radiator causing them to leak.

With this new C&R radiator we have raised the upper and lower fan mounts so that when you bolt in your fan it will clear the sway bar.  Most of the other radiators on the market require some modification to the lower portion of the stock fan in order for it to clear the sway bar.

We have also welded in a threaded bung and supply a thread in Magnesium anode in order to help eliminate any electrolysis.  The Magnesium anode attracts any electrolysis away from the Aluminum to the replaceable thread in anode keeping your radiator free from electrolysis.

C&R SpecMiata radiators utilize our 56mm race core with features like: 

·         All aluminum no epoxy

·         Precision CNC Punch Press used on aluminum sheet metal for radiators

·         All products designed with CAD/CAM (ProE/MasterCam X3) technology

·         Billet radiator neck

·         100% Tig welded by race experienced welders

·         Cross Flow design for improved cooling over down flow.

·         Upper bolt holes and lower mounting guide points for the factory fan.

Radiator comes with 19lb Radiator Cap and Thread in replaceable Magnesium Anode.
